How to Make Spooky Avocado Deviled Eggs
Step 1: Prepare Your Eggs 🥚
If your eggs aren't already hard-boiled, place them in a saucepan and cover with cold water.
Bring to a boil, turn off the heat, cover, and let sit for 10–12 minutes.
Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool completely.
Peel the eggs carefully, slice them in half lengthwise, and gently remove the yolks.
Place the yolks in a mixing bowl and set the egg whites aside.
Step 2: Make the Creamy Avocado Filling 🥑
Add the ripe Hass avocado, cooked egg yolks, HASSY Extra Virgin Avocado Oil, lime juice, and Dijon mustard to the bowl.
Mash everything together with a fork until smooth and creamy.
For an extra-silky texture, blend the mixture in a small food processor.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
HASSY Tip: Our Extra Virgin Avocado Oil adds a naturally buttery, slightly grassy flavor that complements the avocado and makes the filling extra smooth.
Step 3: Fill Your Deviled Eggs
Transfer the avocado mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Don't have a piping bag? Use a resealable plastic bag and snip off one corner.
Pipe a generous swirl of filling into each egg white half.
Step 4: Create Your Spooky Olive Spiders 🕷️
Now for the fun part!
Cut a black olive in half lengthwise to create the spider's body.
Slice additional olives into thin strips for the legs.
Place an olive half in the center of each deviled egg and arrange four little legs on each side.
For an extra spooky touch, use small olive pieces to create tiny eyes or different creepy faces.
Step 5: Serve & Enjoy! 🎃
Arrange your spooky deviled eggs on a platter.
For a festive finishing touch, sprinkle with smoked paprika or garnish with fresh cilantro.
Serve immediately and watch these little spiders disappear!
A Few Extra HASSY Tips 💚
Choose ripe avocados: A perfectly ripe Hass avocado gives the filling its naturally creamy texture.
Keep them green: Lime juice helps slow browning, but avocado naturally oxidizes. Prepare the filling close to serving time for the freshest color.
Make them extra smooth: For a silky, restaurant-style filling, use a food processor instead of mashing by hand.
Get creative: Not a fan of spiders? Use olive slices to create spooky eyeballs instead.
Food safety: Keep the eggs refrigerated until serving, and don't leave them at room temperature for more than two hours.
